Air Fryer Green Bean Fries

January 31, 2026

Cuisine: American

This air fryer technique creates green beans with a crispy, golden coating. The cornstarch-flour mixture forms a thin shell, and mid-cook oil spray ensures maximum crispness. Serve immediately as a side dish or snack.

    Equipment

    • Air Fryer

    Instructions

    1. Trim the green beans and ensure they are completely dry to prevent the coating from sliding off.
    2. In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, cornstarch, flour, and spices until smooth.
    3. Add the beans and toss vigorously with your hands to coat each bean with a thin, translucent layer. Add more oil if the mixture is too thick.
    4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
    5. Place the beans in the air fryer basket, overlapping slightly but not filling more than halfway.
    6. Cook at 400°F for 5 minutes. Shake the basket well and spray generously with cooking spray.
    7. Reduce temperature to 350°F and cook for another 5 minutes, or until the beans are stiff and the coating is golden and crispy.
    8. Serve immediately.
